Between 2003 and 2017 I  have had  over 500 significant features published in national and regional magazines and newspapers - although since 2011 I have concentrated mainly on books of 50,000 words plus.

Articles include more than fifty travel features with many going into publication of the Trinity Mirror group. These  have appeared in major regionals including the Sunday Sun, Sunday Mercury, Birmingham Post. Liverpool Daily Post, Middlesbrough Evening Gazette and Wales On Sunday. Also a number in the Essex Chronicle

Other samples of work can be seen in the online Oxford Dictionary of National Biography  (thirteen  entries) and the online archive section of the Times Educational Supplement.

Among the nationals, I  have produced material for are Family Tree magazine, Discover Your Ancestors, Family History Monthly, Your Family Tree, Your Family History, BBC History, BBC Countryfile, BBC Who Do You Think You Are?, Ancestors, The GuardianPicture Postcard Monthly, Destination France, Italy, Rugby World, Wisden Cricketer, 442, Knitting, Organic Gardening, Nautical Magazine, Freelance Market News and the online Discover Your Ancestors. I had a regular column on Top Ten tunes in My Weekly and  published a significant number of short fiction stories there under a female pseudonym as well as occasional features. Regular regionals inluded The Northumbrian, Cumbria Life, Yesterday, Dalesman, Down Your Way, Lincolnshire Life, Devon Life  and award-winning Scottish Borders publication DG Life.
